The study reviewed here was published in February of 2006 in Molecular Carcinogenesis titled, "Green tea polyphenol (-)-epigallocatechin-3-gallate inhibits cyclooxygenase-2 expression in colon carcinogenesis". The results of the study show that green tea's cancer fighting compound, EGCG, was effective in slowing the growth of and killing human colon cancer cells.
